Yes, it may speed up time to reach a goal faster as a team. That, if the team work together, and not against each other. 

Competition may be fun for the one that wants to run over finish line alone. But have a party alone is not always the best. 

When a team joins hands and everybody do what they are best in, then things move forward. When different views come together then ideas can be developed and something that started with a small idea can become greater.

It´s not about who is best in a team, because everyone has their own role.

For example, a hand is not better than the feet because both are important.

If someone falls there will be a hand from member to help to reach the next step. Next time it may be the opposite and the one that helped is the one that needs help to move forward with ideas or tools that members have.

That's why it can be positive to join different talents as a team.
